What we keep, and why.
Last updated October 22, 2026
The short version.
- We record every call and delete it after 13 months.
- The contractor your call goes to sees the job and how to reach you.
- We don't sell personal information.
- We text contractors only if they agree when they finish signing up.
Who we are.
Switchboard Holdings LLC runs a referral service for home trades in Detroit, Dearborn and Southfield. We connect each caller with one independent local contractor and don't do the work ourselves.
What we collect.
- When you call
- Your number, what you tell our assistant about the job and where it is, and the recording.
From our forms
Name, business name, phone, email, trade, city or ZIP, the lines you pick, the best time to call, and whether and when you agreed to texts.
On the waitlist, also: a trade and city we don't cover yet, whether you checked "Have someone call me", and which link or card sent you. If your trade needs a license, we ask for the number by email before your line opens.
No ad or tracking cookies. Your browser remembers your light or dark setting.
The waitlist.
It holds your place in line. If your trade needs a license, we check it on LARA, the state's public lookup.
How we reach you
- We email you to confirm, for your license number if your trade needs one, and the day your line opens.
- We call you once for a test call before your line opens. Other calls only if you checked "Have someone call me".
- We text only if you agree when you finish signing up, as your line opens.
To leave the list: email dispatch@switchboarddispatch.com, or reply to any of our emails.
Calls are recorded.
We record every call on our lines, including after we put you through. Our assistant says so when it answers.
What the recording is for
We use the recording to see what job was asked for, settle which calls a contractor accepted and paid for, and look into complaints.
Who sees it.
- The contractor your call goes to
- What you asked for, where, and how to reach you, so they can do the job.
Our service providers
The companies that run our phone line and automated assistant, host this site and its forms, store our records, deliver our email, and the AI writing assistant that suggests replies to comments. Each handles your information only to do that job for us.
Text messages.
- Who we text
- Contractors only, at the mobile they give us, and only if they agree when they finish signing up.
What we send, how to stop
Alerts about new leads on your lines and notices about your account. Message frequency varies. Msg & data rates may apply.
Stop any time: reply STOP. We send one message to confirm, then no more. Reply HELP for help, or email dispatch@switchboarddispatch.com.
We don't sell, rent or share your mobile number or your agreement to get texts with anyone for their marketing.
The fine print
The phone company that sends our texts handles your number only to deliver them.
Agreeing to texts is not a condition of buying anything from us. Mobile carriers are not liable for delayed or undelivered messages.
The rest of the text terms are on our Terms page.
LinkedIn.
We post on our own LinkedIn Page and answer comments there. When you comment on one of our posts, our posting tool reads your comment so we can reply.
- What we keep
- The text of your comment, for no more than 48 hours. We don't store your name or profile, and only our team sees it.
- Replies
- An AI writing assistant may suggest a reply. A person reads and approves every reply before it posts.
We don't message you, add you to a list, or use your comment for ads or sales.
LinkedIn's own policy
What you post on LinkedIn is also covered by LinkedIn's own privacy policy.
How long we keep it.
- Calls, recordings and written copies
- Deleted after 13 months.
- Form entries
- Deleted automatically 13 months after your last activity with us. While you're on the list, signed up or working with us, we keep yours.
Inbox copies, text agreements, confirmations
- Copies of form messages in our inbox
- The same 13 month rule.
- Your agreement to texts
- Kept 4 years after our last text to you or after you opt out, whichever is later.
- Which address we sent a confirmation to, and when
- Kept 7 days, so no address gets more than one a day.
